New NEA Chairman - Rocco Landesman
For those of you who haven't heard yet, President Obama has recently appointed Rocco Landesman, 61, as the next chairman for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The appointment, which still awaits Senate approval, has been surprising and exciting to those in the arts community. Many are hopeful that Mr. Landesman will use his tenacity and intelligence, evidenced in his role as president of Jujamcyn Theaters since 1987, to shake things up in Washington and accumulate more funding/grants for the NEA in the future.
