Set against the backdrop of the Hudson River, the proposed Chelsea
Sculpture Park will offer fine art for the public to experience, up
close and outdoors. The park's mission is to provide an aesthetic oasis
in Chelsea Cove, located between West 22nd and West 26th Streets within
nine acres of magnificent surroundings, just steps away from the
world-class Chelsea art district.
Chelsea Sculpture Park will connect visitors with New York City's
extraordinary legacy of creativity, and highlight historical artistic
achievements. The exhibitions will feature the great artists who have
contributed in establishing New York City as the nexus of the art world.
Rotating exhibits will accompany educational components specially
designed to serve local schools, civic groups, and the community at
large. The programming will include guided tours, lectures, and hands-on
activities for children.
