This Friday, April 22, celebrate Earth Day in Chelsea at Hudson River Park! For over 40 years, Earth day has been promoting awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment. This celebration of the planet is now observed in 175 countries and coordinated by the Earth Day Network.
The Volunteer Program at Hudson River Park will help make the park greener and greater during their Earth Day tree planting. Hudson River Park employees and volunteers will be meeting to plant trees in the Natural Habitat area near Pier 66. A special thanks to MillionTreesNYC for donating trees for this special event!
The Green Lawn Bowl near Pier 63 offers the largest open space in Hudson River Park. It is the perfect place to organize an Earth Day picnic for your family and friends! The Nature Conservancy is encouraging folks to Picnic for the Planet. Picnic for the Planet is a celebration of the planet we live on, the food it provides and the people we share it with. In short, the planet does a lot for us — we should take it out for lunch. Don’t forget to hit the farmers market with a reusable bag!
