Atlantic Theater Company is the award-winning Off-Broadway theater that produces great plays simply and truthfully utilizing an artistic ensemble. These plays, from both new and established playwrights, are boldly interpreted by today’s finest theater artists and resonate with contemporary audiences. Founded in 1985 by playwright David Mamet and actor William H. Macy, Atlantic Theater Company has produced over 100 shows, earning twelve Tony Awards, thirteen Obie Awards, nine Lucille Lortel Awards (including the 2006 Award for Outstanding Body of Work), four Outer Critics Circle Awards, a Drama League Award and a Drama Critics Circle Award. 

Past productions have included Spring Awakening,  The Beauty Queen of Leenane and The Lieutenant of Inishmore by Martin McDonagh, David Mamet’s Romance, Joe Penhall’s Blue/Orange, Dublin Carol and Port Authority by Conor McPherson, Woody Allen’s Writer’s Block and A Second Hand Memory, the revivals of American Buffalo and Edmond by David Mamet, and Almost an Evening by Ethan Coen.
